Science vs Religion...

Having completed a semester of Electrical Engineering, I still find the great relevance of science in our day to day Christian lives, and I am more convinced than ever that science is an intergral part of our lives. It is however a shame that more often than not, people are faced with the dilemma of not knowing where to place science in their christianity, and truth be told, this does not have to be the case at all! we do not have to "choose" between the two, and as an end result we do not have to shun science and technology as christians. Therefore be encouraged to explore science with the right mentality, and this is not the "Science vs Christianity" mentality. That being said, I think it is also necessary to confess that many scientists have lost the plot when it comes to what role science has to play in our lives. This fact I have come to witness almost every day as a lot of our very academic staff in the science faculty view science as an end in itself and as a result remove God from the whole equation. They end up disputing the fact that God created everything, including science and all its laws. An extreme case would be the elevation of the laws of science to such an extent that one completely denies the existence of God mainly because everything seems to be in order and if not, it can be explained by a law or order of science as a discipline. I am therefore strongly engaged in this field of science with such great enthusiasm with the hope that as a christian I may be able to bridge the gap between the ordinary christian person and the science academics. Science is awesome and the study of it makes me see with great fascination the beauty in God's creation and at the end of the day say in awe, "Indeed we serve a great God, glory be to Him who created the heavens and the earth!"
